Focusrite’s RedNet range of modular networked audio interfaces utilise Audinate’s Dante protocol to offer a flexible and scaleable solution to a wide range of audio applications, from live sound rigs to large multi-room recording and post-production facilities, all over a standard Ethernet network. The latest addition to the range, the RedNet PCIeNX, is capable of adding 128x128 channels of 24-bit/192kHz Dante audio to any PC or Mac, using either a built-in PCIe slot or external Thunderbolt chassis.
Replacing the existing RedNet PCIeR, the new card’s drivers are natively supported on both Intel and Apple Silicon Mac systems, and also feature multi-client ASIO and WDM (multi-channel surround and multiple individual channel pairs) support on Windows 10 and 11 systems. A virtual network controller is included, allowing a single network cable to facilitate both audio transmission and control/monitoring, whilst dual RJ-45 sockets allow for both switched and redundant operation modes.
Support for the latest standards such as AES67 and compliance with SMPTE ST 2110 promise to make the RedNet PCIeNX a great choice for broadcast applications, and the card is also said to be an ideal solution for those working in Dolby Atmos, as it will allow high-channel-count Dante networks to be integrated with the Dolby Renderer.

The PCIeNX is available to pre-order now, priced at $1599£1549 including VAT / €1749, with shipping expected to commence in Q4 2023.
