HEDD Audio have today announced the upcoming release of the HEDDphone Two, the successor to their acclaimed high-end headphones. The result of over three years of development, the updated design promises to deliver speaker-like performance with stunning definition, as well as offering improved durability despite a reduction in both size and weight.
The new model employs the latest version of HEDD’s Air Motion Transformer driver, which has been redesigned from the ground up to offer even more precise reproduction of subtle transients. The folded Kapton diaphragm used is over three times larger than traditional dynamic, planar, or electrostatic driver designs, and is said to help the HEDDphone Two achieve a transparent, natural-sounding response which permits long listening periods with very little fatigue.
It’s not just the technical performance that has been improved: the company have also implemented a new patent-pending headband. Coined the ‘HEDDband’, the design allows users to customise the headphones to ensure an optimal fit, providing adjustment of the height, width, curvature and even clamping pressure. Thanks to the newly designed driver and use of lightweight materials such as carbon fibre and magnesium, the HEDDphone Two also weights 25% less than the previous model.
The headphones come supplied with a travel case and a spare pair of ear pads, as well as the following cables and adapters:
