The latest version of Serato’s popular sampling plug-in has arrived, and now boasts built-in source separation technology powered by the company’s proprietary machine learning algorithm. With the introduction of the new feature, Sample 2.0 users can now split audio into four stems, allowing individual parts to be processed with its extensive sampling tools.
Incoming audio can now be automatically split into four stems, separating vocals, melody, bass and drums onto their own independant tracks. The process is carried out in real time, enabling users to instantly add acapellas and instrumentals to their productions without the need for any additional processes, software or plug-ins.
The parts can then be manipulated in the same way as full tracks, making it possible to apply key changes and time-shifting courtesy of Serato’s Pitch ’n Time technology, as well as being chopped and assigned to built-in sample pads for triggering. Independant parameters are provided for each pad, allowing every sample to be processed individually, and samples can also be mapped across a keyboard in order to create custom pitched instruments.

Compatibility
Sample 2.0 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 11, 12 or 13. It is available in VST, VST3 and AU plug-in formats. There is no AAX version, meaning that Pro Tools is not supported.
