SSL and Slate Digital have joined forces to offer the chance to access both of their subscription bundles for the price of one until 28 November 2023. For the duration of the offer, new customers will be able to sign up for Slate Digital’s All Access Pass and the SSL Complete subscription bundles for $14.99 per month (paid annual). Alongside the announcement, Slate Digital have also revealed a new free Heatwave plug-in, as well as the Strongroom London Expansion pack for their ML-1 modelling microphone.
Heatwave
Slate Digital's new Heatwave plug-in.The latest plug-in to join Slate Digital’s range has been designed to add some ‘grit’ to sources whilst preserving their original transients. It uses a combination of saturation, transient shaping, compression and EQ, all of which are housed within a simple, intuitive GUI.
A main Drive control is joined by Input and Output level dials, and a Clip button which adds an addition clipper section to the output. The Input control can be used alongside the Drive function to control the amount of processing applied and affect the overall sound, whilst the Output control is placed after both the main processing and clipper stages, and so will simply function as a final level control with no impact on the plug-in's sound.
Heatwave is available now to all as a free download. It is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and above. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Strongroom London Expansion
Designed for use with Slate’s ML-1 modelling microphone, this latest expansion pack contains a selection of five microphones from London’s iconic Strongroom recording studio. The collection’s SD-414 EB, SD-414 BU, SD-4038, SD-47 FET, and SD-12 VR models offer authentic virtual recreations of classic designs such as the AKG C414 and C12 VR, Coles 4038 and Neumann U47 FET, providing ML-1 users with a selection of new sonic options that will suit a wide variety of vocal and instrument sources.
Strongroom London Expansion is available now, and is currently being offered for an introductory price of $99 until 20 December 2023, after which it will cost $199.
